Before work begins on any Habitat project, a family is selected to begin the process of home ownership.

Applications are available at DSNWK, SRS Office, Russell Public Library, and the Russell County Health Department.

Guidelines stipulate that applications must have lived in Russell County for the 12 month period prior to application, be in need of adequate housings, have an ability to make monthly payments and commit to working with the local Habitat affiliate.  Income guidelines specify that the family must make at least 25% but not more than 50% of the median Russell County income.  Confidential credit and reference checks will also be completed.
